Parents play a vital role in a child's education and when teachers and parents work together the effect and impact on learning is very powerful. This is why we work hard to foster and develop links with our parents.
We do like our parents and carers to contribute to the direction and improvement of the school which is why we hold Parent Forums once per term on a variety of issues and topics. Last year these meetings tackled Post Ofsted Planning as well as Assessment & Reporting. Please support these events and have your say. It is not lecture style or formal but consists of group work, discussion and feedback.
PTA - Parents Teachers Association
We are lucky to have a very active and positive group of parents who have raised significant amounts of money to improve the fabric and facilities of our ageing school. Their fundraising has enabled us to revamp the Theatre and put in staging as well as upgrade the Sports Hall, plus many other projects. New members are always welcome but even if you do not have the time to make a regular commitment to this group, you can support them and us by attending as many of their events as possible; Quizes, Car Boot sales & Craft Fairs.
Parent Portal - School Comms
This contains some of the most useful information on your child; contact details, half termly progress data, attendance, achievement points, medical information and reports. This piece of software can be uploaded to your phone and pc so that you can be updated in real time about your son or daughter's achievements.
